Our Veterinarians
Dr. Kheir
Dr. Hurley
Dr Caroline Hurley received her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Spanish minor at Wake Forest University in North Carolina before returning to Ohio. In 2017 she completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Hurley has worked in both large animal and small animal practices before settling at Community Veterinary Clinic. She enjoys all aspects of medicine but gravitates towards surgery and preventative care. Dr Hurley loves meeting new people and helping to foster the bond between them and their pets.
Dr Hurley lives on a small farm outside of DeGraff with her husband and two daughters. She prioritizes spending time outdoors and being active with her children. Her many hobbies include baking, reading, hunting, fishing, and kayaking. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her family and raising her daughters.
Dr. Current
Dr. Current grew up on the farm where he, his wife, and seven children live today. He has always had an interest in animals, raising cattle and horses growing up. He went to the Ohio State University as an undergraduate and was one of the few students to be accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine as a junior. He graduated with honors in 1989 with his doctorate degree in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Current has written and published various articles on veterinary care for both lay and professional veterinary magazines.
Dr. Current married his wife, who is also a veterinarian. He traveled to California and Arizona to gain training before returning to Ohio to work with a large multi-doctor practice in Ashland for four years.
Dr. Current began the Community Veterinary Clinic in 1992, in Sidney. He is an organized and meticulous man with a mind for details. He thrives on a fast pace and multiple tasks. As a Christian man, he has a deep commitment to the local church, and his faith spills over in his professional life with the highest level of care, compassion, and integrity. Though responsibilities at work are many, his priority is his wife and children. Dr. Current’s wife home schools their children on a family farm. The number of children along with the farm setting provide a wonderful dynamic for his family.
Dr. Current’s family has farmed for generations. He, his father, and sons farm a large number of acres and still raise angus cows and a few horses. Though seemingly always busy with some new project, Dr. Current’s hobbies are farming and woodworking. He does grain farm but especially enjoys raising cattle, some of which are recognized nationally as some of the best in breed. He jokes that his woodworking skills are no more than knowing how to drive a 16p nail (which was true at one time). He has made the cabinets and trim at the offices as well as the entire kitchen and other furniture pieces at his home.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Current most enjoys difficult cases and working with people. He will often tell a frustrated client “if you will work with me step by step, we can get to the bottom of any health problem.”
Though he often tells he was not a “people person,” he quickly admits he has become one and enjoys our clients as much as his patients.
Dr. Current’s heart is to care for his faith, his family, and the people who trust their pets to him.
