I’m Emily and I am a Veterinary Assistant here at Community Veterinary Clinic. I am currently working on my Associates degree in Veterinary Nursing Science from Purdue University and my bachelor’s in Animal Behavior from The Ohio State University. My passion for animals started in kindergarten. I have been told by my mom I would bring home animal anatomy books for a bedtime story. I have always been passionate about giving those who cannot speak a voice. I hope one day to work with military dog that have PTSD at Lackland Air Force Base, helping them get a second chance at life after war. I have worked in different veterinary practices from Eastern medicine, to Behavioral, to the Humane Society, to working at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in their animal hospital. I grew up outside of Columbus in Westerville, OH where my family still lives. I have been bouncing back and forth between here and Arkansas for the past few years for school. Northwest Arkansas is like my second home. Needless to say, I love traveling when I can! I am always looking for an adventure to go on!! Otherwise, I like to curl up and watch scary movies! I have a miniature dachshund named Elliot Stabler, after the detective for Law and Order: SVU, and a cat named Louisville Slugger (I call him Louie for short). Did I mention I am a huge baseball/softball fan!? Played all my life with the dream of D1 until I got injured. I cannot wait to meet you and your special fluffball!!

Hi my name is Camille Axton. I first joined Community Veterinary clinic in 2008 after 10 years as a dental assistant. When I felt it was time for me to make a change in careers I knew I had to do something I was passionate about. Animals have always been a part of my life and working with them daily is a dream come true. I truly enjoy helping people and their pets live well together. You can find me working in any of our locations helping Dr. Current manage the team.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening, music, reading and spending time with my grandchildren. My husband and I share our farmhouse with 2 rambunctious Jack Russell Terriers and a rowdy kitten.

I’m Shelby and I am a Veterinary Technician here at Community Veterinary Clinic. I graduated from the Vet Tech Program at Bradford School in Columbus with my associate of Applied Science Degree in 2008. I have worked with Dr. Current since June 2011. I love everything I do here! I’ve known since I could walk that I wanted to work with animals. They are like our kids; they need us and depend on us to take care of them. I enjoy nursing care the most. Taking care of our hospitalized patients and seeing them get better is very important to me. Following up on patients, and the great relationships I have with clients who trust us is also very rewarding. I grew up in Piqua, OH and I have 3 nieces that I love dearly. I enjoy traveling. I am very close with my family. I enjoy going to the movies and love Italian and Sea food! I of course have pets, I have 2! “Lex” aka Pooh Bear, he’s my French Mastiff (Dogue De Bordeaux). “Willow” is a mixed breed. My mom and I rescued her from the pound. Everybody knows I love German Shepherds, so if you come to the clinic with one, watch out!

Hey! I’m Shawntel, and I am a veterinary technician here at Community Veterinary Clinic. I chose this field to work in because I love working one-on-one with owners and veterinarians, to help make pets live a long and healthy life. I love talking with and educating clients about their pets and making a difference in their lives. I have always wanted to work with animals but I alos had a passion for the medical field, so I enrolled in Miami-Jacobs Career College as a Veterinary Technician in October 2012. It was something I had never done before and from the end of my first class, my passion and interest in this field skyrocketed. On December 23, 2014, my life changed forever as I had graduated from Miami Jacobs Career College; it was the best Christmas present received. I was born and raised in Greenville, Ohio, I would have to say outside of work, being an aunt is my favorite title! On my days off you may find me reading a good book, fishing, hiking in the woods, or playing with my 2 dogs, Axle and Luna. I look forward to meeting you and your pets when you visit Community Veterinary Clinic!

Hi there! My name is Judy Grauman and I am a book keeper and animal caretaker for Community Veterinary Clinic. I have worked at the Piqua veterinary clinic now for almost 20 years and have enjoyed every moment. What I enjoy most about veterinary care is being able to take care of and interact with all the patients that come into the clinics, but being good with numbers and at accounting made me an excellent choice for book keeper. I was born and raised in Greenville, Ohio until I got married and then my husband and I moved to the city of Piqua. I have two amazing children, a gorgeous blood hound, and ten cats! In my spare time I enjoy working on and around my small farm. It will be a pleasure to meet you and your pets when you bring them into the clinic!

Hello, my name is Lyon. I am one of Dr.Current’s seven children, and like my siblings, I grew up coming to work with my dad. I also grew up on a farm, with plenty of barn critters to foster my love of animals, great and small. I recently moved back to Ohio after moving to California for two years to study Fine Art, with an emphasis on painting and drawing. I consider myself a figurative oil-painter, and a practicing artist. I am grateful to be working at Community Veterinary Clinic, not only because I get to spend time with my dad, but because as a creative I get to express myself fully. All my wonder, empathy, and appreciation of beauty goes towards loving our wonderful clients and their pets.

I’m Alyssa, a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist here at Community Veterinary Clinic. I am originally from western Pennsylvania and moved to Columbus in 2016. My love for animals started young. When I was 5 years old I got my first pet, named Cuddles. He was a lovable, long haired, black cat and we did everything together. Since then, long haired black cats have had a special place in my heart. As of right now, I have one cat that I recently adopted named Merlot. She is an 8 year old female, and happens to be a long haired black cat! In my spare time when I’m not at home hanging with Merlot, I like to spend time with my family and friends. My family lives mainly here, in Columbus, as well as Pennsylvania. One of my favorite things about visiting my family in Pennsylvania is seeing my parent’s dog, Jazzy, a pitbull/lab mix that is the biggest sweetheart ever! I treat every animal with care and compassion, as if they were my own. I am so excited to continue my journey with animals working here at the clinic. I can’t wait to meet you and your pet(s)!
